  Hí there, we want to record a couple of facial muscles(emotional reactions).
Since I am new to EMG so I am unclear about some basic stuff.

-how to reference the electrodes?
+for EEG we use mastoid or average, would it be suitable here?
+or should we use bipolar el. 1-2cmm apart?
+will be EMGlab able to work on the mastoid referenced EMG?

We are gonna use an EEG amplifier which is hardwired with a lowpass cutoff at ~400Hz. Will this significantly impair EMGlab(or other published) separation algorithms?
